Inspired News Sources Project
Discovering journalism and news sources referenced by leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—seeking what is virtuous, lovely, and praiseworthy.
Explore Sources"If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things."
Article of Faith 13
Of Good Report catalogs journalism and news sources that have been cited in General Conference talks and other addresses by Church leaders. We believe that by examining what our leaders reference, we can better understand how to seek reliable, constructive, and trustworthy information.
In an age of information overload, discerning truth from error matters more than ever. This project aims to help Latter-day Saints and truth-seekers everywhere develop media literacy grounded in the same principles that guide our faith: seeking the virtuous, the lovely, and the praiseworthy.
A note on context: A citation does not imply endorsement. Church leaders reference various sources for educational, illustrative, or contextual purposes. This site is for informational and educational purposes only.
"Never in the history of the world have we had easier access to more information—some of it true, some of it false, and much of it partially true. Consequently, never… has it been more important to learn how to correctly discern between truth and error."
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, CES Devotional, January 2013
"We need to be cautious as we seek truth and choose sources for that search. We should not consider secular sources of learning as more authoritative than the scriptures and the words of modern prophets."
President Dallin H. Oaks, General Conference, October 2018
